Background
Bishop Seabury Academy is an independent, college preparatory school in Lawrence, Kansas, that promotes individual academic growth and character development through a curriculum rooted in moral principles. It opened in 1997 and is an Episcopal school that welcomes students of all faiths.
Challenge
I've developed and produced marketing materials for Seabury since 2015. It's a point of pride that each auction since has raised more money for students than the previous year. Crafting a compelling campaign every winter based on the auction committee's assigned theme is satisfying work.
Solution
The theme in 2023 was Rock On Seabury, an anthem that parents and friends took to heart as they revived ’80s fashions buried in their closets, artfully shredded event T-shirts and donated like they were Livin' On A Prayer. I designed backstage passes that were laminated as lanyards and also served as auction paddles. Traditional collateral included a Save the Date post card, ads, invitation and preview booklet, and a 56-page auction catalog.
